Basketball Recap: Alcona Takes a Loss

Alcona lost against Ogemaw Heights back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Alcona Tigers took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ogemaw Heights Falcons.

Despite the loss, Alcona still got an impressive performance from Garrett Somers, who posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Somers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Borsvold, who earned eight points and six boards.

Alcona's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Ogemaw Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.
