Basketball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Comes Up Short

If Coram Deo Academy was riding high fresh off their 71-46 takedown of Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors had to suffer through a 69-35 loss at the hands of the Faith Christian Falcons. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Coram Deo Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kasen Echols shot 62% from the field en route to 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Echols has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brecken Millage, who posted eight points and five boards.

Faith Christian was led to victory by Carson Bivins and Logan Baker. Bivins went 8-for-17 on his way to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Baker dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. That's the most points Baker has posted since back in December of 2024. Vander Bodzioch also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Coram Deo Academy fell to 4-1. As for Faith Christian, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coram Deo Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Faith Christian, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Quad Cities Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
