Basketball Recap: Opp Comes Up Short

Opp played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Straughn Tigers and fell 44-16. The Bobcats were down 44-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Taylor Adams and Saniyah Hines, who each put up five points. Hines also led the team in rebounds with seven. Ashlyn Henderson took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Opp has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Straughn, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing New Brockton the next time they take the court. Opp will head out to face New Brockton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Straughn will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
