Football Game Preview: Dekaney Wildcats vs. Nimitz Cougars

The Dekaney Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Nimitz Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dekaney is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They breezed past MacArthur to the tune of 37-7 on Thursday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Wildcats were the (much) better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Nimitz took on Spring on Friday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 34-14 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dekaney's record now sits at 3-6. As for Nimitz, their record is now 7-2.

Dekaney couldn't quite get it done against Nimitz when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 22-15. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
