Soccer Recap: Nixon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Roma last Tuesday, Nixon came back down to earth. The Nixon Mustangs fell just short of the Palmview Lobos by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Lobos are ranked 443rd).

Nixon's defeat dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Palmview, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Coincidentally, Nixon and Palmview will both be playing Mission Veterans Memorial the next time they take the pitch. Nixon will host Mission Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on February 28th, while Palmview will host them at 6:00 p.m. on March 4th.
