Volleyball Recap: St. John's Bluejays vs. New Bremen Cardinals

If St. John was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bath on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluejays lost 3-0 to the New Bremen Cardinals on Thursday. The Bluejays were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-12.

Alaina Martin paced St. John's offense, picking up six kills. Martin got some help from Megan Kerner and her 13 assists.

Leading New Bremen to victory were Charlotte Nelson and Allie Bornhorst. Nelson had four digs and two aces, while Bornhorst had 17 assists and two aces. Nelson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

St. John's has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for New Bremen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-2.
