Softball Recap: Clay Blue Devils vs. Creekside Knights

If Clay was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of St. Augustine last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell 13-8 to the Creekside Knights on Thursday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Clay got a big performance out of Kaelye Rouw, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Hailey Hackett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Creekside, their record now sits at an identical 12-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay will challenge Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Creekside, they will take on Providence School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
