Basketball Recap: Jefferson County North Comes Up Short

Jefferson County North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 51-35 fall against the Pleasant Ridge Rams. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Pleasant Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Mance out in front who posted nine points along with eight blocks and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mance a new career-high in blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Heim, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points.

Jefferson County North's record now sits at 0-3. As for Pleasant Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Jefferson County North will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McLouth on January 7, 2025. Pleasant Ridge also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Pleasant Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
