Softball Recap: Flathead Falls Short Against Ranked Russell

Flathead faced Russell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Braves fell 5-1 to the Rustlers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Makenna Korf was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Flathead has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Russell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Flathead didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-3 victory against Great Falls on the 12th. As for Russell, they have also already played their next game, an 8-3 loss against Glacier on the 12th.
