Basketball Recap: Branson Takes a Loss

Branson came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Fair Grove Eagles by a score of 54-51 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Eagles are ranked eighth).

This is the second loss in a row for Branson and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Fair Grove, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Branson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parkview at 6:45 p.m. on January 27th. Branson is facing Parkview at the right time seeing as Parkview is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Fair Grove, they will venture away from home to challenge Battle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
