Football Recap: East River Comes Up Short

East River had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They were outmatched by the Windermere Wolverines and fell 45-6. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 47-6 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Windermere, their record is now 5-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Windermere's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Davis led the charge by picking up 116 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in one TD on the ground. Those 116 receiving yards gave Davis a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Henry Rogers, who rushed for 48 yards and a pair of scores.

Looking ahead, East River will look to defend their home field on Friday against Innovation at 7:00 p.m. The Bulls' defense has only allowed 6.8 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Windermere, they will face off against Lake Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
