Soccer Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

After flying high against La Marque last Thursday, Columbia came back down to earth. The Columbia Roughnecks fell just short of the Needville Bluejays by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Roughnecks in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now lost three in a row.

Giovanny Espinoza and Cade Thoe scored both of Columbia's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Needville, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Columbia will host Brazosport at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season. As for Needville, they will venture away from home to challenge Sweeny at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Needville is facing Sweeny at the right time seeing as Sweeny is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
