Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Has No Trouble Against Watkins Memorial

While Mt. Vernon didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 54-40 win over the Watkins Memorial Warriors on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Watkins Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Mt. Vernon and Hayes will round out the year against one another at at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th. As for Watkins Memorial, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
