Volleyball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Takes a Loss

Woodrow Wilson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bruins have suffered since February 27th.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Long Beach Poly scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.

Woodrow Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Long Beach Poly, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-8 record this season.

Woodrow Wilson and Long Beach Poly should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bruins (ranked 239th) will meet Cabrillo (ranked 739th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly will square off against Lakewood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (89 vs. 533).
