Basketball Game Preview: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Cesar Chavez Champions

South Mountain is 1-6 against Cesar Chavez since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the South Mountain Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Cesar Chavez Champions at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when South Mountain challenged Maryvale on Tuesday. South Mountain took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maryvale. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez didn't have quite enough to beat Camelback on Tuesday and fell 68-66.

Cesar Chavez's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 13-11. As for South Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-19.

South Mountain suffered a grim 80-56 defeat to Cesar Chavez in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can South Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
