Baseball Recap: Francis W. Parker Starts off Right with Win over Proviso East

Francis W. Parker had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Proviso East Pirates. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colonels also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Nathan Pantoja made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Lincoln Hamid was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Julian Pantoja, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Proviso East's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Francis W. Parker will be playing in front of their home fans against Proviso West at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Proviso East, they will head out on the road to square off against Waukegan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
