Volleyball Recap: Madonna Triumphs

Madonna lost to Wellsville back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Blue Dons came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Dons.

Madonna walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Madison Owens paced Madonna's offense, picking up 22 kills. Owens got some help from Sophie Brady and her 35 assists. Brady was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Madonna's win bumped their record up to 11-4-1. As for Wellsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Madonna will head out to take on Tyler at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wellsville, they will venture away from home to square off against United at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
