Baseball Recap: Goodrich Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Goodrich, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Frankenmuth Eagles on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Martians have posted since May 21, 2024.

Bryce Woods looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Goodrich's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cross Darby, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Scott Pethers, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Goodrich's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Frankenmuth, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Goodrich will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
