Volleyball Recap: Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus Comes Up Short

Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Smidt Tech Grey Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grey Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-19.

Smidt Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gio Lopez led the charge by getting nine aces and five kills. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 2.5 aces per game. Israel Beltran was another key player, getting eight kills and five aces.

Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus' loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Smidt Tech, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.
