The Platteview Trojans will take on the Malcolm Clippers in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Platteview is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Beatrice: they outscored them in every quarter. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 43-23 margin over the Orangemen on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Orangemen recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sully Vanosdall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 69% from the field to rack up 22 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.3% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Ekue, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malcolm). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 61-13 win over Raymond Central. With the Clippers ahead 40-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Malcolm's win came from a few key players Platteview will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brixon Meyer, who posted nine points along with five assists and five boards. Those nine points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Kucera, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points.
Malcolm was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Platteview's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Malcolm, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Platteview has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Malcolm struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Platteview didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Malcolm in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Clippers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
