Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Elberta

Elberta entered their tilt with Theodore on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 11-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Roberts, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Sanks, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Roberts wasn't the only one making solid contact: Elberta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Warriors are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Elberta's record is now 15-21-1. As for Theodore, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Elberta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Cottage Hill Christian Academy on the 12th. As for Theodore, they will be playing at home against Blount at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Leopards have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.7 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
