Softball Recap: Taylor Ducks vs. Smithville Tigers
Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of the Smithville Tigers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Taylor of the 6-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.
For Smithville's part, Addison Otto was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Otto was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Claire Kennon was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Smithville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9-3.
