Soccer Game Preview: Bellflower vs. Warren

The Bellflower Buccaneers will head out to take on the Warren Bears at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bellflower took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Paramount out 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Buccaneers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Warren had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Vikings a 3-0 shutout. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Vikings are ranked 491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Warren's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Bellflower, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-4.
