Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Eagles vs. Eastern Mennonite Flames

The Fredericksburg Christian Eagles pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-62 to Eastern Mennonite. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (55), Fredericksburg Christian still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christan Smith, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Caesar, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Fredericksburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Eastern Mennonite, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Fredericksburg Christian will head out on the road to face off against Seton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Eastern Mennonite will take on Hargrave Military Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hargrave Military Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Eastern Mennonite likes a good challenge.
