Basketball Recap: Pioneer Beats Rowe for Their Second Straight Win

Rowe came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Pioneer, but Muhamed Shaath wouldn't allow it. The Pioneer Diamondbacks came out on top against the Rowe Warriors by a score of 38-30 on Saturday thanks in part to Shaath, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pioneer's points.

Nathan Reyes was another key player, putting up three points and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Pioneer and bumps their season record up to 10-13. As for Rowe, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Pioneer will head out to face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rowe, they will challenge Vela at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
