Cypress Creek waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Jersey Village Falcons 55-35. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Falcons are ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Jersey Village had strong showings from Champion Ellis Jr., who posted eight points and nine rebounds, and Bryce Jones, who had ten points and five boards. Orlando Ray also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 23-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jersey Village, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season.

Cypress Creek will face off against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Stratford likes a good challenge. As for Jersey Village, they will take on Northbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jersey Village is facing Northbrook at the right time seeing as Northbrook is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
