Soccer Game Preview: Dayton vs. Sheridan

The Dayton Pirates will challenge the Sheridan Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dayton's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Dayton fell victim to Yamhill-Carlton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that Dayton have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Sheridan also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Western Christian on Tuesday, falling 8-0. That's two games in a row now that Sheridan have lost by exactly eight goals.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-2.

Dayton was able to grind out a solid win over Sheridan in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, winning 2-0. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
