Football Recap: Mira Loma Piles Up the Points Against Florin

Mira Loma put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 54-0 victory over the Florin Panthers. Fans of the Matadors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Deangelo Keys was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in August of 2024. Keion Kado also helped with three TDs in total.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Mira Loma, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kado, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

Mira Loma's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Florin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Loma will venture away from home to square off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Florin, they will head out to challenge Encina at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
