Softball Recap: Twin Lakes Wins Going Away Against Kouts

Twin Lakes gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies as they made off with a 17-6 win.

Myley Spriggs spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Leah Shrock was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Macee Rice was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Twin Lakes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Twin Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Kouts, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Twin Lakes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against Pioneer on the 17th. As for Kouts, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 defeat against Rensselaer Central on the 19th.
