Baseball Recap: Oaks Christian Triumphs

Oaks Christian posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Thousand Oaks Lancers. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Lancers last Thursday, they had to take a 7-3 defeat.

Christian Ipsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Oaks Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Puls, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Oaks Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Thousand Oaks, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-6.
