Volleyball Game Preview: Tularosa Wildcats vs. Santa Teresa Desert Warriors

The Tularosa Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tularosa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tularosa duked it out with Hot Springs on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Tigers.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 14-25, 25-15.

Tularosa's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaleria Caje, who had six kills and two aces, and KiAndra Legarde, who had one block.

Meanwhile, Santa Teresa got the win against Loretto on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Desert Warriors in their matchups with the Angels: they've now won four in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Santa Teresa took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-15.

Santa Teresa's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Tularosa, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 9-4.

Tularosa might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Santa Teresa when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
