Basketball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

Highlands suffered their closest defeat since February 22, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Murphy Bulldogs by a score of 33-31. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murphy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Dockery, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Kennedy White was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Murphy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Highlands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 88-16 loss against Cherokee on the 7th. As for Murphy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-30 defeat against Polk County on the 7th.
