Basketball Recap: Arcata Comes Up Short

Arcata lost against Heritage back in December of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Arcata Tigers came up short against the Heritage Patriots, falling 84-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (60), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Leading Heritage to victory were Brady Lockrem and Nate Grube. Lockrem posted 29 points, while Grube put up 17 points. That's the most points Grube has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Bernard, who had 11 points.

Arcata's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Arcata Tigers take on the Ukiah Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcata is facing Ukiah at the right time seeing as Ukiah is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will challenge California at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in California's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Heritage has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
