Basketball Recap: Cooper Lyons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sandoval over Christ Our Rock Lutheran

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Sandoval and Christ Our Rock Lutheran had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blackhawks came up short against the Silver Stallions on Friday, falling 58-37. The contest marked the Blackhawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Sandoval's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Lyons, who posted 11 points along with six boards and five blocks. Another player making a difference was Josh Gordon, who shot 45% from the field en route to 12 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Sandoval now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Sandoval won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Red Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Blackhawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they and Soldan International Studies will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
