Soccer Game Preview: Buchanan vs. Clovis East

Buchanan hasn't had much luck against Clovis East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buchanan Bears will face off against the Clovis East Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Tuesday, Buchanan and Clovis North finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Clovis East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Central. That's two games in a row now that the Timberwolves have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Noah Naranjo, who's now up to nine this season.

Clovis East's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1. With that draw, Buchanan's record moves to 13-1-4.

Buchanan came up short against Clovis East when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Buchanan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
