Softball Game Preview: Falmouth Navigators vs. Massabesic Mustangs

Falmouth hasn't had much luck against Massabesic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Navigators will square off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Falmouth has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Falmouth is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They lost 14-1 to Deering.

South Portland hit Massabesic with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Red Riots, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Falmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Massabesic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Falmouth might still be hurting after the 23-2 loss they got from Massabesic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Navigators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
