Softball Recap: Diamond Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Diamond is still undefeated this season after their contest against Stockton on Tuesday, but Stockton came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 6-4. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sara Roszell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Ball, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kabrie Parmley also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Diamond pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Stockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Diamond and Stockton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Wildcats will face off against Versailles at 5:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (2 vs. 36). Meanwhile, Stockton (ranked sixth) will meet Ash Grove (ranked 69th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
