Soccer Game Preview: Riverside-Brookfield vs. West Chicago

The Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the West Chicago Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Riverside-Brookfield is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Aurora East on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell 2-0 to the Tomcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Riverside-Brookfield came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Aurora East are ranked 259th).

Meanwhile, West Chicago earned a 3-1 victory over Wheaton Academy on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for West Chicago.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverside-Brookfield and nudges their season record down to 8-6-1. As for West Chicago, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Riverside-Brookfield suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to West Chicago in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
