Volleyball Game Preview: Trimble Tomcats vs. Eastern Eagles

The Trimble Tomcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trimble will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Trimble had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Miller on Monday. The Tomcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Falcons.

One reason for the win was Trimble's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 25-13.

If Belpre wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Eastern, they should've done a better job of containing Emeri Lloyd. The Eagles blew past the Golden Eagles 3-0 on Thursday for which the team can thank Lloyd, who had ten digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-18, 25-12.

The victory got Trimble back to even at 10-10. As for Eastern, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Trimble suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Eastern in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Tomcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
