Softball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jayhawk Linn on Friday, Burlington came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Labette County Grizzlies on Monday, falling 12-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Camden Swank was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Labette County by a score of 7-6 later that day.
