Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Comes Up Short

The Blue Ridge Raiders lost 16-5 to the Wyalusing Valley Rams on Saturday.

Mel Bloomer and Abby Piechocki did some serious damage despite the final result: Bloomer scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Piechocki scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Hailey Champang was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wyalusing Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will welcome Montrose at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wyalusing Valley, they will host Wellsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wyalusing Valley is facing Wellsboro at the right time seeing as Wellsboro is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
