Basketball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

Jefferson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-46 loss at the hands of the South Pike Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Eagles are ranked 117th).

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for South Pike, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Jefferson County is taking a road trip to challenge Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for South Pike, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-45 loss against Raymond on the 25th.
