Basketball Recap: Kenesaw Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

A well-balanced attack led Kenesaw over Axtell in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Kenesaw Blue Devils walked away with a 65-52 win over the Axtell Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leading Kenesaw to victory were Adam Denkert and Jravin Suck. Denkert almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Suck almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Denkert's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Wagoner, who posted 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Axtell lost, don't look at Jacob Halvorsen. Despite the final result, he had 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Halvorsen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandt Modlin, who put up ten points.

Kenesaw's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Axtell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Kenesaw will welcome Wilcox-Hildreth on Friday. As for Axtell, they will venture away from home to take on Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
