West Bend West and West Bend East faced off in a cross-town battle on Monday. The Spartans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Suns, sneaking past 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-6 back in April.

Colin Grass tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dieter Pommer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

West Bend West's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for West Bend East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
