Football Recap: Pine Bush Falls Despite Big Games from Noah Schorling and Ruben Simpson Jr

After soaring to 41 points the game before, Pine Bush was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against the Washingtonville Wizards, falling 28-7. While losing is never fun, the Bushmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Wizards are ranked 104th).

Despite the loss, Pine Bush had strong showings from Ruben Simpson Jr, who rushed for 142 yards, and Noah Schorling, who picked up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown. Simpson Jr's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.

Brennan Tesseyman had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 106 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes, while also rushing for 61 yards for Washingtonville. Tesseyman also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Pine Bush has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Washingtonville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

As of now, neither Pine Bush nor the Wizards have any future games scheduled.
