Basketball Recap: Northeast Vikings vs. Erie Red Devils
Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 61-41 to the Erie Red Devils. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Vikings struggled afterwards.
It was another big night for Reid Duff, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 boards for Erie. That makes it five consecutive games in which Duff has scored at least a third of Erie's points. Parker Hughes was another key player, putting up nine points.
Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Erie, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-9.
Northeast has already played their next game (against Neodesha), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Erie, they and Eureka will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Erie knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Eureka likes a good challenge.
