Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Family's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cornerstone Family had won three straight games and Gabe Smith did his part to make it four on Thursday. Everything went the Saints' way against the Veritas Christian Eagles as they made off with a 70-49 victory with plenty of help from Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 33 points and nine rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points.

Jaxon Griffith was another key player, putting up six points and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Cornerstone Family's record is now 5-1. As for Veritas Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Cornerstone Family won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chanute Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Veritas Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Bishop Seabury Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
