Baseball Preview: Liberty Chargers vs. Harmony Longhorns

Liberty is 0-8 against Harmony since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Liberty Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Harmony Longhorns at 7:00 p.m.

Sadly, Liberty is still looking for their first win of the season after 12 games. They suffered a rough 18-8 defeat at the hands of Davenport on Friday. One positive for Liberty, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Jeremias Padilla was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Joel Cruz was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Harmony narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past St. Cloud 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for Harmony.

Ismael Rivera looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also only allowed one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Iziah Santiago was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Yathniel Matos, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Harmony, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
