Baseball Game Preview: Walled Lake Western Warriors vs. West Bloomfield Lakers

Walled Lake Western and West Bloomfield are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Lakers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Walled Lake Western turned things around against Kettering on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Captains 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 21st.

Logan Saks was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, West Bloomfield entered their tilt with Farmington on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-1 victory. Considering the Lakers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Bloomfield pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Walled Lake Western, the win got them back to even at 10-10-2.

Walled Lake Western came out on top in a nail-biter against West Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
