Baseball Recap: Vernon Wins Going Away Against Bethlehem

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Vernon walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bethlehem Wildcats on Monday. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Colton Glover was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Vernon's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 6-16 when he doesn't). Landon Cooper was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

Vernon's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Bethlehem, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Coming up, Vernon will take on Holmes County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. Bethlehem does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
